School Psychological Services – EMCTS currently contracts with more than 25 Maine school districts to provide school psychological services. These include cognitive assessments, academic evaluations for learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral assessments and behavioral consultation. Cumulatively, the staff of EMCTS have over one hundred years of experience in the evaluation of children for emotional, behavioral and/or learning issues. Staff have expertise in such diverse areas as learning disorders, cognitive disabilities, Autism, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD and behavior disorders. Consultation services are offered to school districts in each of these areas as well with licensed Psychologists, School Psychologists and Behavioral Consultants. Staff provide behavioral consulting to programs serving children with Autism and offer Applied Behavior Analysis models from elementary to high school aged students. Similarly, consultation is offered to Day Treatment programs and special education programs for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities.
Specialized Section 28 Services – EMCTS is a designated provider of Specialized Section 28 programming to children of Maine with diagnoses of Autism and/or Intellectual Disability. Services are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and are scientifically validated and research supported. The staff work off structured treatment plans which are developed with significant input from family members and other community providers. Data are utilized to track the child’s progress and treatment team reviews are held monthly, usually in the client’s home, to review progress and to adapt the treatment plan as needed. Services for Section 28 are funded by Mainecare and all clients must be Mainecare eligible.
Psychological Evaluation – On a limited basis EMCTS can provide psychological evaluation services to the general public. If desired, psychological evaluation can include cognitive assessment, academic evaluation and/or emotional and behavioral assessment. The EMCTS staff will work with families to arrange for financial payment including providing the insurance information needed to obtain reimbursement to families but all services are on a “fee for service” basis and payment is expected at the time of service.
